Teachers in Guan Farka Sirubari
In November 2025, Apara Thapa Bhattarai and Kate Jackson, visited two CHoE alumni working as teachers at the Guan Farka Lower Secondary School close to the village of Sirubari. The name Guan Farka means Return to the Village which is very appropriate as these two young professionals are going back to their roots to pass on the education they were lucky enough to have at Charlotte’s Haven on Earth in Kathmandu. Purnima Bardewa and Pradip Kafle are excelling as teachers, both studying BA and MA qualifications along side their school roles and their skills are much appreciated by the children and the leadership team. Purnima was presented with her first paycheck and a laptop donated by the Eifion Trust who will fund her first year. Many thanks to the school for providing her with this opportunity and for their hospitality on the day and to Lilbahadur Gurung for arranging the visit.
The Eifion Trust is commited to supporting Nepalese young people who want to stay and work in their country, working towards a better future for the place they love.
