Rebuilding Shree Janata Secondary School
At 11.56am on Saturday 25th of April 2015, Nepal was struck by a devastating earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was at Gorkha District, 60 miles North West of the capital Kathmandu.
One of the many areas that had serious damage was in Ranipani Village Development Committee Parbat District. Many houses had been damaged beyond repair with the only Lower Secondary School in the area very badly damaged. Children of the school were having to study under tarpaulin shelters.
The Eifion Trust provided funding to help rebuild four classrooms, including new roofs and furniture at Shree Janata Lower Secondary School, Ranipani, Parbat District.
