Dental Camp Hangdewa

“Focus on teeth for our senior school today. Every child was examined. Some required minor treatment immediately and others will be referred to hospital for x-rays and further treatment. We were delighted to welcome a team of volunteer dentists from Kathmandu (although Dr. Suman Waiba Tamang, one of 3 dental surgeons, was originally from Hangdewa). The initiative was at the instigation of Sabina Subedi, a dental student, who lived at CHOE and was sponsored at school by The Eifion Trust. She and 2 other students assisted the dental surgeons along with another CHOE volunteer, Sonika Adhikari, who helped with the administration. Our huge thanks to the whole team who will continue their work at the Montessori School tomorrow.”

“In the Montessori School for the Early Years children aged 3-8, our visiting dentists also saw teachers and parents and grandparents. Whilst checking teeth, the dental surgeons and students explained to the children how they should keep their teeth healthy by brushing twice a day. Our school leaders were very proud to be able to present them with certificates as a small thank you for travelling from Kathmandu as volunteers. A very worthwhile dental camp.”
